The History of Mitsuboshi Belting

1919 Oct Mitsuboshi Shokai was founded to manufacture cotton transmission belts at the current Kobe Plant site.
1920 Mar Main material of power transmission belts production was changed from cotton to rubber.
1932 Oct The business was incorporated as Mitsuboshi Shokai Co., Ltd.
1935 Jun The company name was changed to Mitsuboshi Chotai Co., Ltd.
1936 Mar Start manufacturing conveyor belts.
1937 Jun Tokyo Branch established.
1940 Oct Start manufacturing V-belt.
1947 Jan Start manufacturing bicycle tires and tubes.
Nov Shikoku Plant established and start manufacturing flat belts.
1948 Nov Osaka Branch established.
1955 Jun Nagoya Branch established.
1957 May Start manufacturing timing belt.
1958 Jul Listed on Osaka Securities Exchange.
1961 May The company name was changed to Mitsuboshi Belting Ltd.
Jun Listed on Nagoya Stock Exchange.
1962 Jan Nagoya Plant established.

Sep Kanagawa Plant was established to take over the production of automotive components at Mitsuboshi Belting Kanagawa Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
1980 Apr Start manufacturing engineering structural foams.
1982 Oct Start manufacturing ChemiFlex products from polyurethane materials.
1986 Sep Shiga Plant established; start cord treatment for power transmission belt.
1987 Dec Mitsuboshi Belting (Thailand) Co., Ltd. established in Thailand.
1988 Feb MBL Antriebstechnik Deutschland GmbH established in Germany.
Mar Start manufacturing power transmisson belts at MBL (USA) CORPORATION.
Sep PT. MITSUBOSHI BELTING INDONESIA established in Indonesia.
1990 May MBL International (Asia) Pte. Ltd. established in Singapore.

1992 Oct Head Office was moved to Harborland Center Building, Kobe.
1995 Jan Facilities of Kobe Plant were damaged by the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.
1996 Nov PT. SEIWA INDONESIA established in Indonesia.
1999 Feb Mitsuboshi Belting Giken Co., Ltd. established in Ayabe City, Kyoto, for the purpose of developing and testing production systems.
Oct Held ceremony to commemorate 80th anniversary.
2000 Jan Start multi-headquarter system, Tokyo head office established.
Apr Techno Research Center established at Kobe.
Jun MBL International (Asia) Pte. Ltd. in Singapore changed its business purpose and was renamed MITSUBOSHI OVERSEAS HEADQUARTERS LIMITED.
Nov Kobe head office moved to Nagata Ward, Kobe
2001 Aug MOI Tech Europe Sp.z o.o. established in Poland.
Nov STARS TECHNOLOGIES INDUSTRIAL LIMITED established in Thailand.
2002 Jun MBL SHANGHAI INTERNATIONAL TRADING CO., LTD. established in China.
2003 Jan Consolidated MITSUBOSHI OVERSEAS HEADQUARTERS LIMITED and Mitsuboshi Belting (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. into MITSUBOSHI OVERSEAS HEADQUARTERS LIMITED.
Jan Consolidated sales companies in Japan into one company, Mitsuboshi Belting Sales Co., Ltd.

2004 Apr SUZHOU MITSUBOSHI BELTING CO., LTD. established in China.
Oct Automotive components division was split to Mitsuboshi Belting Kaseihin Co., Ltd.
2006 Sep All stocks of Mitsuboshi Belting Kaseihin Co.,Ltd. were handed over to International Automotive Components Group Japan,LLC.
2007 Oct Ayabe Production System Development Center started its operation with the integrated production system from raw materials to finished products.
2008 Oct Developed new variable speed belt composed of engineering plastic blocks and rubber.
2010 Dec MITSUBOSHI BELTING-INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED established in India.
2012 Aug Mitsuboshi Belting VIETNAM Co., Ltd. established in Vietnam.
2015 Jan Held an advertising tower lighting ceremony as a commemorative 20th year after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.
Feb Released Smart Tension, a simple belt tension measurement app for smartphones.

2021 Apr PT. MITSUBOSHI BELTING SALES INDONESIA established in Indonesia.
2022 Apr Transferred from Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section to Prime Market
